Restoring Smiles with Dental Implants at
The Dental Studio
At The Dental Studio, we specialise in advanced dental implant solutions to help patients with missing teeth regain both confidence and oral function. Dental implants provide a permanent and highly effective way to replace missing teeth, but how do you know if they’re the right solution for you? During a personalised consultation, our skilled team will assess various factors to ensure the best possible outcome for your smile and overall health.
Assessing Your Candidacy for Dental Implants
Overall Oral Health
Your oral health plays a crucial role in the success of dental implants. During your initial consultation, we will review your dental history and thoroughly examine your gums and teeth for any signs of gum disease, decay, or prior dental work. A healthy foundation is essential for the successful placement of implants, ensuring stability and long-term results.
Bone Density
The strength and density of your jawbone are critical to the success of dental implants. At The Dental Studio, we assess your bone density to determine if your jaw can securely support an implant. If additional support is needed, we may recommend preparatory procedures such as bone grafting to build a solid foundation before proceeding with your treatment.
Medical History
Certain medical conditions, such as unmanaged diabetes or autoimmune disorders, can affect your eligibility for dental implants. Our team carefully reviews your overall health and medical history to confirm that dental implants are a safe and suitable option for you.
Age and Growth
While dental implants are an excellent solution for adults, younger patients may need to wait until their jaw has fully developed. Our specialists evaluate age and growth stages to determine the ideal timing for implant placement, ensuring the best outcome and longevity of results.
Personalised Treatment Planning
If you’re deemed a suitable candidate for dental implants, we will create a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. Our team will guide you through every step of the process, explaining each phase and providing detailed pre- and post-operative care instructions. At The Dental Studio, we prioritise your comfort and ensure you feel informed and supported throughout your treatment journey.

Who is a good candidate for dental implants?
Dental implants are a great option for most adults with one or more missing teeth who are in good general and oral health. The ideal candidate has healthy gums, adequate jawbone to support the implant, a fully developed jaw, and no untreated dental issues such as decay or gum disease. A short consultation is the best way to know for certain, as we tailor implant treatment to each patient’s individual needs and goals.
What can stop someone from being a candidate for implants?
Some factors can reduce suitability for implants — including active gum disease, untreated tooth decay, unmanaged medical conditions such as diabetes or autoimmune disorders, insufficient jawbone density, and an incompletely developed jaw in younger patients. The good news is that many of these issues can be treated or managed first, often making implants possible at a later stage.
How do you assess whether implants are right for me?
At your consultation we carry out a thorough evaluation, including a review of your dental and medical history, an examination of your gums and remaining teeth, and dental imaging to assess the quality and quantity of bone in the implant area. Based on the findings, we’ll let you know whether implants are suitable now, whether any preparatory treatment is needed, or whether an alternative tooth-replacement option would suit you better.
What if I don't have enough bone for an implant?
Insufficient jawbone is one of the most common concerns — but it rarely rules implants out completely. Where bone is lacking, a bone grafting procedure can be performed to rebuild the area and create a strong foundation for the implant. Once the graft has integrated, the implant can usually be placed as planned. We’ll explain every step clearly so you know exactly what’s involved.
Is there an age limit for dental implants?
There’s no upper age limit — adults of any age in good general health can be considered for implants. For younger patients, however, we wait until the jawbone has finished developing (typically late teens) before placing an implant, so the final result remains stable and natural as the face matures. During your consultation we’ll assess your stage of development and recommend the right timing.
What happens during my implant consultation?
Your consultation is a relaxed, no-pressure appointment focused on understanding your goals and current oral health. We review your dental and medical history, examine your mouth, take any necessary imaging, and discuss whether implants are the right fit for you. You’ll receive a clear, personalised plan outlining your options, the steps involved, expected timing and any preparatory care needed — so you can make a confident, fully informed decision.
